I am a senior citizen and I live in the Brook Hills subdivision. I frequently shop at Jewel on 179th and Wolf Road. I have noticed when I am sitting in my car that a lot of vehicles speed past the front of the store. People DO NOT STOP at the stop signs. On one particular day, I saw a young man who was pushing carts for Jewel almost get hit by a speeding vehicle! This is a safety hazard for all citizens, but especially senior citizens, handicapped people and small children. Is there something that can be done? Can we possibly get speed bumps put in front of Jewel so that customers will not get run over? Many cars also cut through to go to the Chase Bank which is next to Jewel. These people also illegally park right outside the Chase facility. The Jewel parking lot is very unsafe and the problem needs to be addressed IMMEDIATELY! Please do something before someone gets injured or worse ... killed. If you do not handle these types of problems, please forward this comment on to the particular person or department who can do something about this. Thank you.
